About Us

Trees. Timber. Wood.  These represent one of the World’s most vital resources.  A resource in which provide for our daily lives in multiple ways, and one that most of us take for granted.  We would be hard pressed to count how many times during our day we depend upon wood to enjoy life, work, play, even survive!

Think about it.  Trees are one of the most foundational, pre-historic, surviving and most giving entities.  They have played a critical role in World history as well as civilization development in which they continue to do so today.  Mature trees that stand proudly today are older than any person, that any one of us have ever met, or known.  Trees have a story to tell, and tree’s wood is it’s memoir. They were witness to our world’s creation and evolution, all human development, natural disasters, wars and celebrations.  If we only had a way to appreciate the grandeur and purpose of these giant, old friends. Here, we feel like we can, and we do everyday!

Have you ever heard the someone say, “If these trees could talk…?”

Well, we pride ourselves on allowing that type of personal connection and interpretation to occur.  By using reclaimed (never living) timber and wood, we employ our woodworking craft to create pieces that represent historical relevance, personal memories, dreams and beauty for our clients.  Our designs typically combine the world’s most beautiful wood species with other mediums (such as epoxy resin) that captivate people’s imagination, interest and attention.  While we may describe these creations as furniture, wall or desk art, or even a memorial of sentimental artifacts, they can transform these sometimes mundane or necessary items into something that is personally meaningful.

If trees could talk…it may be time to listen! Take the Mundane to Meaningful - and add Beautiful to Useful.

 About David

David is a native of the State of Georgia growing up in Marietta, GA.  He started working with his Grandfather who was a carpenter and builder when he was 10 years old.  He continued this through high school and college at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA.  After college, David decided to shift his career into the corporate world with a Fortune 100 corporation in which he worked for 25 years - advancing through sales and sales leadership and ultimately becoming one of the senior executive Leadership team, and Chief of Staff to the President.  He then started his own corporation working with clients to establish the profession of selling as a distinct competency of their culture, and corporation.

In 2017, his passion and curiosity for beautiful wood creations, coupled with the current trends of technology and safe designer wood mediums, would motivate him to launch Dunn Creek Woodworks & Studios with facilities in both Dacula, GA., and Lake Sinclair/Eatonton, GA.   While many examples, and for sale items, can be seen here on this site each project is a custom work based on client desires and direction.  From simple charcuterie boards to large tables, doors and art pieces David and his team will consult with every client as appropriate for design direction.  David maintains a global network of partnerships for sourcing common and exotic wood for his creations.

David enjoys the outdoors and what nature has to give.  He spends his spare time enjoying Georgia’s lakes, ocean fronts, mountains, caves, geology, archaeology and history.  He also loves to travel, college football (this is a long story…), fishing, and grilling/smoking foods.  David’s family and many friends are involved in some part of the daily operations of his practice.
